My name is Meghan Lynch and I would absolutely love to be your Central Park proposal photographer. I photograph proposals on a weekly basis (working with couples is my speciality) and have loads of location suggestions if you need them. Whether you are looking for a proposal backdrop in Central Park or the city skyline- New York City has it all! You can read all the raving reviews from the 50+ proposals I’ve captured on google!
If you’re looking for the most private experience possible, I recommend a sunrise session (especially at popular locations like Central Park). To get the romantic backlit glow of golden hour, those take place within an hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. If you are choosing a high tourist location in Central Park and sunrise doesn’t work, I allow morning proposals to be done anytime before 9:30AM.

General tips for planning a NYC proposal
- Monday-Thursday are always preferred over Friday-Sunday to help mitigate crowds
- The prettiest light to photograph in is during golden hour around 90 minutes after sunrise and 90 minutes before sunset. The closest times to official sunrise and sunset the better light. A sunrise proposal over sunset is best to avoid crowds. The high tourist areas in Central Park are still quiet before 8:30AM. If you choose a morning proposal near Bethesda Fountain then post session you are a quick walk to Blank Street or Ralph’s Coffee if you need a caffeine boost
- Cherry blossom proposal sessions: First 2 weeks of April and at sunrise only
- Central Park will be vibrant with blooms from April-August
- A fall foliage proposal in NYC is best for mid to end of October
- A winter holiday proposal is best in December
- If you want a proposal with snow then the best chance is January or February
- The only area that requires a permit in Central Park is the Conservatory Gardens. Scroll down to find the step by step directions on how to secure your date & time.

John pulled off a sweet morning proposal to Jasmine with a Grown Brilliance ring in Central Park. These two met at Coachella and spent 5 years of their relationship long distance.
One of their first trips they took together was in NYC so they traveled from Arizona and John decided to propose in Central Park. I had so much fun photographing these two and taking them to other iconic Central Park spots like Bethesda Fountain & Bow Bridge. After finishing with me, these two were off to celebrate for the remainder of their trip going to eat at some of NYC’s top restaurants (they are big foodies!). Huge congratulations to you both!
