Hey there! I’m Meghan and I’d love to be your Acadia National Park elopement photographer. I’m a super bubbly inclusive Massachusetts based wedding & engagement photographer with 10 years of experience serving couples all over New England who love true to color & vibrant editing.

As a huge outdoor enthusiast, there probably isn’t a wilderness sport I don’t love- I used to be a guide! Today I’m a Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Certified Photographer, and graduate of Maddie Mae of Adventure Instead’s Adventure Elopement Academy (so I’ve learned from the best). I fell in love with Acadia National Park during a rock climbing trip to Otter Cliffs in college and now it’s my mission to give couples like you an incredible elopement day in the park I love so much!

I want you to have the most incredible experience and photos that tell the true love story of your day that you can cherish in years to come. I want you to feel safe & comfortable in your own skin with a wedding day that is uniquely you. A celebration with just the two of you exchanging vows in a breathtaking spot or surrounded by your family- whether that’s biological, chosen family of friends, or beloved pets.

I’ve photographed 100+ weddings (big & small) in the USA & Europe so I’m an expert in posing, lighting (both natural light and flash for indoor spaces), and there is no scenario I haven’t been in. I am able to give couples peace of mind that no matter how the day unfolds, locations, the weather, etc. they are going to get gorgeous images.

So if you are looking to have an incredible day with a custom timeline completely tailored to the activities you both love while getting those classic romantic photos in a national park setting then I would LOVE to be your Acadia National Park elopement photographer. If you’d like to check my availability you can fill out my contact form here.

  • MONUMENT COVE
  • JORDAN POND

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH LGBTQIA+ ELOPEMENTS?

You bet! I’m an inclusive wedding vendor. All are welcome.

WE DON’T WANT TO HIKE A TON DURING OUR ACADIA ELOPEMENT, IS THAT OK?

Of course! One of the many perks about Acadia National Park is that there are so many gorgeous locations where you just pull up, park and walk across the street to stunning views. As for mountain elopements, most of the ceremony locations where my couples have said “I do” were less than an hour of hiking. Acadia has lots of short hikes with big payoff views!

BEST TIMES TO ELOPE IN ACADIA (ACCORDING TO AN ACADIA NATIONAL PARK ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER)

Luckily Acadia National Park is open year round so when selecting your date it really depends on your seasonal preference! When you and your partner are celebrating throughout the weekend do you see yourselves soaking in rays of sunshine on the water or snowshoeing in a winter wonderland? If you are looking to avoid big crowds as much as possible then you’ll want to steer clear of having a wedding in July or August since those are the busiest tourist months of the year. Here is a breakdown of Acadia’s weather throughout the season:

March-May (considered off season):

Temperatures: Crowds are thin, but expect foggy mornings, mud from the melting snow, and temperatures that range from the mid-20s to mid-50s. Most of the businesses such as hotels and restaurants will begin opening late April ( with most in Bar Harbor open by Memorial Day). Bugs are most active mid May to the middle of June.

June-August: Temperatures ranging from the 50s to the high 70s, summer is a pleasant time to visit, so naturally there’s a tourist influx. Keep in mind that Park Loop Road and the road to the Cadillac Mountain summit can get congested pretty easily (as well as available parking around the park) and last-minute accommodations are hard to find. If you are envisioning an elopement in a popular Acadia destination like Sand Beach, anything along Ocean Drive, or Otter Cliffs then I’d recommend a sunrise elopement.

September- October: Summer crowds leave after Labor Day and there is a lull of tourists between the middle of September and right before “leaf peepers” arrive mid October. Even though the foliage can draw more crowds it still doesn’t hit nearly as many people as July & August and the bright colors on the mountain vistas are totally worth it!

November-February Temperatures rarely rise above freezing, but the snow on the coastline is beautiful! There are ample opportunities for snowshoeing, snowmobiling (on Park Loop Road and up Cadillac Mountain), and cross country skiing for those that love the winter season. *Take note- certain parts of the Park Loop Road will be closed as well as most dining & hotel options in Bar Harbor starting November.*

Top tips to consider:

  • Have your ceremony close to sunrise or sunset
  • Avoid the weekends and plan your Acadia elopement on a weekday to avoid crowds
  • Early September after Labor Day and early to mid October will be the best times to plan a wedding in Acadia weather wise. Bonus you’ll be able to embrace that New England foliage we are famous for.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?

I believe in quality over quantity so you can expect on average a minimum of 50 images per hour.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR US TO RECEIVE OUR ACADIA ELOPEMENT IMAGES?

You’ll receive your images within 8-10 weeks max. I take time editing each individual photo with my vibrant/true to life editing style. I also include complimentary photoshop retouching of your images for magazine worthy photos! This includes things such as removing zits, flyaway hairs, apple watch tan lines, trash, and photobombers in the background of your photos.

WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER ON MY ACADIA NATIONAL PARK WEDDING DAY?

I don’t believe in bad weather only bad gear! Growing up in New England I have photographed in all weather conditions from snowy days in Vermont to rainy days. In my opinion rainy days can create some of the most romantic photos (I also bring along clear umbrellas for you too!). The couples I love working with are ready to have a dance party in the rain and embrace the weather no matter what!
