My favorite locations for a sunset beach proposal include First Encounter Beach, Mayflower Beach, The Knob, and Paine’s Creek Beach. Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham Lighthouse Beach, Menahaunt Beach, Wequassett Resort, Nauset Beach, and Nauset Light Beach are still good options for those who would rather the glowy backlit photos to be by the dunes or sea grass but just be aware the sun won’t set on this side of the Cape.

WHAT TIME OF DAY DO CAPE COD PROPOSAL SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Cape Cod surprise proposal sessions take place within 90 minutes after sunrise or 90 minutes before sunset. If you want a majority of your photos by the ocean where you aren’t squinting into the sun then I suggest selecting a location (I’ll help with suggestions) where the sun is either rising or setting over the ocean to give you that dreamy backlit look. I’ll also be researching the tide charts for our beach session so you’ll have the widest amount of sandy beach to walk on- plus less seaweed!
WHAT DAYS OF THE WEEK DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH PROPOSALS?
I photograph Cape Cod surprise proposals Monday-Thursday during wedding busy season May-October (you can always ask though if I have a weekend free). If you are proposing in my wedding off season November-April, I may have Friday-Sunday availability. Plus weekdays are always way less crowded than weekend dates for a more intimate experience.
