You don’t have to ask me twice to photograph in one of Massachusetts’s beautiful parks so I was so excited when Laurel and Owen said they wanted to have a Borderland State Park engagement session in June.
In fact, growing up in South Shore, Massachusetts, my family were regulars at the park in North Easton for long walks in the woods. The park provides year round opportunities for hiking (over 20 miles of trails), horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, tennis, cross country skiing and boating.
If you think you’ve seen Borderland State Park featured on the big screen- you’re not wrong! The 2016 reboot of “Ghostbusters, “Shutter Island” and most recently “Knives Out” have all showcased the grounds and Ames Mansion within their films. Even cooler, you can book a tour for the Ames Mansion built in 1910 and see the indoors yourself!
Parking- $5 with Massachusetts plates, $20 out of state plates, DCR pass free
Photography Permit Fee- $45
Park Hours- Open 8am daily. Closes at 4pm in the winter or 8pm in the summer.
Address: 259 Massapoag Ave., North Easton, MA 02356
Borderland Phone number: 508-238-6566

The first time Laurel got in contact with the Canton Equestrian Center, Owen was the lucky guy on the end of the receiving line. Fast forward 7 years later, and she said yes before they headed out on a trip to Maine! We had lots of fun dancing around during their summertime session and I can’t wait to capture more of their dance moves next May in Vermont at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort.
