I was thrilled when Paisley and Conor hired me as their Boston engagement photographer for their fall couples session in the city. In the highlights below you will see that they opted to have their session in two locations as well as show off two outfits- they are one stylist pair! During their fall Boston engagement session we wanted to highlight a more rustic setting to show off the New England foliage as well as capture more of a downtown urban vibe with Beacon Hill’s beautiful architecture and cobblestone streets. We began in the Back Bay Fens section of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, spent some time in the James P. Kelleher Rose Garden, and then took a quick drive into downtown to finish up in the charming Beacon Hill neighborhood. Since most businesses won’t allow you to use their restrooms during COVID they got to change outfits using my new Wolfwise pop up tent!
Boston is such a wonderful spot for engagement sessions because it’s incredibly easy to still incorporate rustic, waterfront, or urban backdrops close to downtown. Since their Boston engagement session took place in October, the leaves were still vibrant, pumpkins lined stairwells, and mums of all different colors filled the flower boxes of the brownstone apartments. If you are curious about other spots besides the Emerald Necklace or Beacon Hill, you can click on this blog post link here to read about the “Best Locations for Boston Engagement Photos”. Also if you are craving a night out that is also COVID friendly, you can read my post here for my massive list of fun “Boston Date Ideas”.
Wondering if a fall engagement is right for you? Close your eyes and picture what you want your engagement photos to look like. If you picture bright foliage, pumpkins, mums, and fallen red & orange leaves on the street then I bet it would be a great fit. If your favorite outfits lean more towards rocking boots, cozy sweaters, scarves, and long coats over dresses and sandals then this is another positive indicator that you’d love a Boston engagement session in autumn. Although it changes every year and isn’t always 100% accurate this New England Peak Fall foliage map is a great start to track when the leaves will be their most colorful. During fall, 2020 Boston’s peak foliage was during Sept. 30th- October 18th. You can also choose to do a more activity based engagement session such as going apple picking, pumpkin picking, or attending one of New England’s fall harvest fairs & carnivals.
Meet the couple: Paisley and Conor love spending time in East Boston and met on October 23rd (also the day of their photo session). In 2021, they will be saying “I do” on their 7th meeting anniversary during their fall Vermont wedding and are super excited for their personalized wedding drinks and open dance floor!
