Hey it’s Meghan and I’m so happy you’re considering me as your elopement photographer! Here’s an in depth blog post on cape cod elopement photography faqs of what it’s like working with me.
WHAT DAYS OF THE WEEK DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH CAPE ELOPEMENTS?
I photograph Cape Cod elopements Monday-Thursday. If your ceremony is taking place outside then we work off the golden hour light of sunrise or sunset to get those dreamy wedding photos with the most flattering light.
WHERE SHOULD OUR CEREMONY BE ON THE CAPE?
You have two options! 1. Make an appointment at one of the Cape Cod town halls that has an officiant onsite to perform a ceremony (not all Cape town halls do this so you’ll have to call and ask).
2. Have an outdoor ceremony (which all my Cape elopements have done so far). You’d hire an officiant like Married By Priscilla or Write Weddings (or have a family member or friend get ordained online) and then get a beach permit for a ceremony if necessary. This is an amazing option since then we can have your elopement during the best lighting of the day (where a booked city hall ceremony means we go off their times and might need to photograph during mid day sun). For reference all the photos on my website (unless cloudy) and instagram were photographed during the golden hour light of sunrise or sunset!
ALL WE HAVE IS OUR WEDDING DATE AND KNOW WE WANT IT TO BE THE TWO OR US (OR SOME VIP FAMILY & FRIENDS) NOW WHAT?
If you have your wedding date and want your ceremony to be at a town hall then call to book an appt (and make sure they have your date available for a ceremony).
If you have your wedding date and want your elopement to be at a venue, then you’ll want to book with a venue and then hire your elopement photographer.
If you have your wedding date and want to get married outside (like on a beach or by a lighthouse) then you’ll want to book your elopement photographer next. All I need to know up front is your wedding date to make sure if I have it available and your general location- which would be Cape Cod!
You do not need to pick your outdoor ceremony or photo locations at all before booking your photographer. In fact after you book you’ll get my list of recommended vendors and I’ll send over a location & activities questionnaire to help you envision your dream wedding day.
To book me as your elopement photographer I’ll just need your wedding date and your collection of choice 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours. Once you both sign the contract and pay the retainer (50% of your collection) you’ll be officially booked!

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH LGBTQIA+ ELOPEMENTS?
You bet! I’m an inclusive wedding vendor. All are welcome.
DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP CAMERA?
Yes I have two cameras with me on your wedding day!
HOW MANY GUESTS CAN I BRING TO MY CAPE COD ELOPEMENT?
You are more than welcome to have a celebration with just the two of you or you can absolutely bring your VIP family and friends along. My intimate weddings and elopements are capped at 20 guests.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?
I believe in quality over quantity so you can expect on average a minimum of 50 images per hour.
HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EDITING STYLE?
To give your images that timeless look, my editing style is vibrant & true to color. By not following a trend, your images will have that classic look with a mix of some black & white photos in your gallery.
DO YOU SHOOT FILM PHOTOGRAPHY OR JUST DIGITAL?
Currently I just photograph on digital mirrorless Sony cameras.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR US TO RECEIVE OUR CAPE COD ELOPEMENT IMAGES?
You’ll receive your images within 8-10 weeks max, but you’ll get some sneak peeks within 48 hours. I take time editing each individual photo with my vibrant/true to life editing style. I also include complimentary photoshop retouching of your images for magazine worthy photos! This includes things such as removing zits, flyaway hairs, apple watch tan lines, trash, and photobombers in the background of your photos.
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY WEDDING GALLERY?
Your wedding gallery will be uploaded to an online gallery site that is password protected. It’s super user friendly and you can download your images with one click! You are more than welcome to share this link with anyone you’d like. That way if you do have family members or friends in attendance they can download photos of themselves too. It links to a professional printing lab, but you aren’t obligated to order prints through me. If you’d like to print your photos elsewhere that is totally fine (I’ll give you a print release in case a lab wants to see it). There are never any watermarks on your images.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS OR HEIRLOOM ALBUMS?
Yes! The link to your online gallery connects to a professional printing lab so you can order prints, framed wall art, and canvases through me if you are looking to decorate your homes with memories of your wedding day. Heirloom albums provide the perfect keepsake to stand the test of time. My talented album designer Meg will take over with communication and guide you through the entire process from start to finish.
WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER ON MY ELOPEMENT DAY?
I don’t believe in bad weather only bad gear! Growing up in New England I have photographed in all weather conditions from snowy days in Vermont to rainy days. In my opinion rainy days can create some of the most romantic photos (I also bring along clear umbrellas for you too!). The couples I love working with are ready to have a dance party in the rain and embrace the weather no matter what!
In cases where it looks like there will be a break in the rain earlier in the day, (and any other booked vendors are flexible) then we can pivot our time together on your wedding day to photograph during a cloudy break.
DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP PHOTOGRAPHER, IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU ON WEDDING DAY?
So luckily I’ve been a wedding & engagement photographer for 10 years and I’ve never missed a session or wedding due to any emergency. If there was something that happened to me on your wedding day where I couldn’t photograph it then I would send a message in my text group of talented wedding photographer friends that all have a similar style to me and in a local Cape Cod wedding photographer facebook group to see who could come instead (your photos would still be edited by me in my style). Like I said I’ve never had anything happen, but we have a really tight knit community and when I have seen those emergency post from others posted someone was always able to step in.
HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
You’ll reach out in my contact form with your desired date, coverage time (2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours) and a general location to see if I’m available. If I’m free your date then we’ll hop on a zoom call so I can learn more about the two of you and the elopement day you envision! After that, I’ll send you the proposal (contract & invoice) for you two to sign & pay and then you’ll be officially blocked off on my calendar!
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
Yes! Unless otherwise noted I do two payments (one with the signing of the contract and the last payment 2 weeks before your wedding day) but I can absolutely split your chosen collection into 3 or 4 payments if needed. I’m super flexible!
