Chatham MA is such a beautiful spot for a romantic Cape Cod engagement session. During the summer months when it’s high tourist season it’s much easier to have a session close to sunrise. Since this Cape Cod engagement took place after Labor Day weekend we had the luxury of a sunset photo session with the beach practically to ourselves. I had the honor of photographing this amazing Cape Cod proposal for Flytographer right before Thanksgiving. It was a beautifully sunny day and we were able to combine photos on the beach, the iconic Chatham Lighthouse, and Chatham’s Main Street for this dreamy shoot.
Things to Do In Chatham MA (before or after your Cape Cod Engagement Session)
If you’re looking to keep the merriment going after a Chatham engagement session here are some fun things to do in the area!
– You can grab coffee at the Snowy Owl Coffee Espresso Bar in Chatham
– Visit the Chatham Lighthouse and walk the Chatham Lighthouse Beach (there is limited free parking)
– Stay at the luxurious Chatham Bars Inn or just grab a drink overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at their Beach House Grill or at the Veranda
– Explore downtown Chatham favorites like The Mayflower Shop and Where The Sidewalk Ends Bookstore
When I offered to take a photo of them as a friendly photographer waiting for another session- Gaby had no idea what was about to happen next!
In reality, Jordan and I had already been chatting for weeks about their Cape Cod engagement session and I had scouted the beach well before to select this exact spot. In fact I stuck a small flag in the sand so Jordan would know when he was getting close to where I was standing.
